1. Check the Water Level in the Pool
If the water level is below the skimmer inlet, the pump will suck in air instead of water.
Solution: Add more water until the level reaches the center or above the skimmer opening.
2. Inspect the Baskets and Strainers
Debris like leaves can block the skimmer basket or pump strainer basket.
Solution:

• Turn off the pump.
  
• Remove the skimmer basket and the pump’s strainer lid.
  
• Clean them thoroughly and reinstall.
  
• Turn the pump back on.

3. Prime the Pump (Add Water Manually)

• If the pump housing is dry, it may need manual priming.
  Solution:
  
• Pour water directly into the pump strainer housing.
  
• Close the lid tightly.
  
• Turn the pump on and check through the transparent lid to see if water starts circulating.
  If not, change the multiport valve setting to “recirculate” to help water flow back more easily.
  

4. Check the Filter and Impeller

• The filter may be clogged or dirty

Solution:

• Backwash the filter (if using sand filter) or clean/replace the cartridge.
  
• Remove the pump lid and inspect the impeller inside for blockages or debris.
  
• Clean the impeller to ensure smooth water flow.
