Salt chlorination for residential pools
The EC12 uses electrolysis to generate chlorine from salt dissolved in pool water. Its controller and electrolytic cell are combined in one compact unit, and the cell plates can be accessed for maintenance. The chlorinator must operate with a functioning circulation and filtration system. Pool water still needs regular testing and chemical balancing.

50 m³ is a reference maximum, not a guarantee of sufficient chlorine in every pool. Allow for sunlight, bather load, water conditions and pump runtime when selecting a chlorinator.
Key functions
Use the + and buttons to select one of five output levels, guided by pool-water test results.
Runs at maximum output for eight hours, then returns to the previous setting. Test the chlorine level before and after use.
Helps reduce scale accumulation on the cell, but does not eliminate the need for regular inspection.

Before installation and startup
Install in the pool circulation line after the pump and filter, following the manual. Check the flow direction and make sure enough water passes through the cell. Plan any bypass and valves for the actual site layout.
02 · Electrical supplyHave a qualified installer check the power supply and the adapter supplied with the unit. Provide appropriate earth-leakage protection and ensure the chlorinator cannot run while the circulation pump is off.
Choose a well-ventilated location. Protect electrical parts from rain, excessive moisture and splashes, and leave room to remove the cell plates.
04 · Water checkMeasure salinity and water chemistry before starting chlorine production. Run the pump and confirm adequate water flow through the unit.
Salt addition and water care
The EC Series manual gives a reference salinity of approximately 3,500 ppm, equivalent to 3.5 kg of salt per cubic metre of water when starting from zero salinity. Use suitable sodium chloride pool salt without inappropriate additives. Always measure the existing salinity before adding more.

Example: A 50 m³ pool measured at 2,500 ppm needs approximately 50 kg to reach 3,500 ppm.
Switch off the chlorinator while adding salt, but keep the circulation pump running. Distribute the salt around the pool rather than leaving it in a pile. The manual recommends 24 hours of circulation, followed by another salinity test, before restarting the chlorinator. Test free chlorine and pH regularly, then adjust output and operating time according to actual readings.

Cell maintenance
Inspect the cell periodically and clean it when scale is present. The automatic cleaning function reduces scale buildup but does not replace inspection. Before removing the cell, disconnect power, stop the pump, close the relevant valves and release pipe pressure. If a cell-cleaning solution is needed, follow the EC Series manual and the chemical's safety instructions. Do not scrape the titanium plates with metal tools.
