Product Overview
WINWINPOOL UNITHANE W-4000 is a two-component polyurethane topcoat designed for swimming pool coating systems and other surfaces requiring high durability. It produces an attractive glossy film with excellent resistance to abrasion, water and weathering, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Each 3-litre set contains Part A 2.4 litres and Part B 0.6 litres, mixed at a 4:1 ratio by volume. Use with WINWINPOOL Thinner W-M-22 and apply over WINWINPOOL Concrete Sealer 2 Part primer (code FBCSLG0000-W) for optimum performance.

Detailed Surface Preparation
- Allow new concrete to cure for at least 28 days or until fully dry before painting.
- Ensure the concrete surface is sound and free from powdering or spalling.
- Mechanically abrade or grind the concrete to create a suitable surface profile.
- Remove all dust, oil, curing compounds and other contaminants.
- Repair cracks and damaged concrete.
- Ensure the surface is completely dry before priming.
- Apply Concrete Sealer before the W-4000 topcoat.
- Drain all water and allow the surface to dry completely.
- Remove algae, mould, chlorine deposits, salts and grease.
- Remove all cracked, blistered or flaking existing paint by grinding or stripping.
- Abrade sound existing coatings to improve adhesion.
- Clean the surface thoroughly and allow it to dry completely.
- Repair cracks and perform an adhesion test on a small area first.
- Apply a suitable primer according to substrate condition before applying W-4000.
- Remove all rust, oil, dust and deteriorated existing coatings.
- Clean and abrade the surface to achieve a suitable profile.
- Apply a primer suitable for the specific metal.
- Steel, aluminium and galvanised surfaces may require different primers. Consult the technical team before application.
- Apply the specified number of W-4000 topcoats.
Substrate & Application Environment Requirements
Mixing Procedure & Ratio
- Open Part A and stir until uniform.
- Add Part B to Part A at a 4:1 ratio by volume.
- Mix thoroughly until homogeneous, scraping the bottom and sides of the container.
- If viscosity adjustment is required, add Thinner W-M-22 only after Parts A and B have been fully mixed.
- Add approximately 010% thinner by volume, depending on the application method, temperature and site conditions.
- Use the mixed coating within approximately 4 hours at 30°C.
- Do not add thinner to extend pot life once the coating begins to thicken.
- Do not pour dispensed or mixed coating back into the original container.
Using WINWINPOOL Thinner W-M-22
Recommended dilution is 010% by volume (maximum; thinner is not required in every application). Use only this thinner. Other thinners may cause incompatibility, coagulation or coating failure.
Excessive thinning may produce a thin film, sagging, reduced coverage and slower curing.

To allow for surface roughness, absorption, pool geometry and application losses, estimate a practical coverage of approximately 3040 m² per set per coat.

Drying times are approximate and may vary with film thickness, humidity and ventilation. Do not fill the pool or expose the coating to pool chemicals until the film has fully cured.
