**Rubber Water Stop** is used in the construction of buildings, tunnels, dams, reservoirs, and many other structures. These are available in natural rubber manufactured under TISI (Thai Industrial Standards Institute) standards or specific standards set by the Royal Irrigation Department. Rubber Water Stop is a rubber strip used for connecting concrete joints. For example, in the construction of high-rise buildings with basements, water tanks, or swimming pools (whether underground, on the ground, or on rooftops). These rubber strips serve as an excellent waterproofing barrier because concrete casting cannot typically be completed in a single day. Therefore, it is necessary to use water stops to prevent water leakage through joints, whether in floor walls or wall beams, to prevent future problems after construction is complete. It is ideal for preventing water penetration in basements, bridge beams, water storage tanks, wastewater treatment ponds, large fish ponds, canals, concrete dams, and all types of concrete water containment structures.

Leakage problems in concrete structures where pouring occurs at different times result from the fact that concrete hardening at different intervals cannot fuse into a single seamless mass. This creates a **Construction Joint**, which is a gap through which water can leak. Additionally, the expansion and contraction of concrete structures due to temperature changes, twisting, or structural movement (**Expansion and Contraction Joints**) are other causes of cracking.

Installing rubber water stops at concrete joints is a highly effective and widely used method for preventing water leakage. This is because rubber is a material with excellent elasticity, low water absorption rates, and various designs to suit different applications. The installation of water stops is popular in projects such as dams, underground tunnels, basements, swimming pools, and floodgates.

The width of the rubber strip to be used is determined by a rule: the width of the water stop must not exceed the thickness of the concrete slab. For example, for 9" thick concrete, a 6" or 8" wide water stop should be selected.

**Choosing a Water Stop:** There are various sizes available to meet specific requirements, suitable for buildings, swimming pools, and all types of water reservoirs.

There are 2 main types of Rubber Water Stops:
   1. **Plain Center with End Bulbs (TYPE C):** Commonly used for construction joints to prevent leakage in areas like basements, swimming pools, walls, and rooftops. It is suitable for structures with minimal expansion.
   2. **Center Bulb with End Bulbs (TYPE A and TYPE B):** The standard type for large-scale construction, areas with structural vibration, or high concrete expansion/contraction such as dams and underground tunnels. It is perfectly suited for high-expansion applications.

**Thickness of Rubber Water Stop:** Available in 5 mm and 9.5 mm thicknesses.

Rubber Water Stop Strips
These are rubber strips for connecting concrete joints in high-rise buildings with basements, swimming pools, and underground or rooftop water tanks, as well as Royal Irrigation Department projects. The water stop acts as a highly effective barrier against seepage. Since concrete casting cannot be finished in one day, these strips are essential to prevent water from leaking through the joints.
