ERA Single Union Spring Check Valve, 1.5" and 2"

Stops water flowing back into the pump, keeps the system primed, and protects heaters and salt chlorinators from chemical backflow. The union end lets you open it for cleaning without cutting the pipe.

The pump stays primed

When the pump stops, water in the suction line does not drain back to the pool. Pumps installed above water level restart quickly, with less risk of running dry and burning the mechanical seal.

Protects heaters and salt chlorinators

Prevents highly chlorinated water from the chemical feeder or salt cell flowing back and corroding the heater, pump and filter.

Clean it without cutting the pipe

The union nut loosens by hand, so a technician can remove debris and replace the spring or O-ring in minutes, cutting maintenance labor.

Stainless steel spring, instant closing

The stainless steel spring pushes the UPVC gate closed the moment flow stops. Unlike a swing check, it does not rely on the weight of the flap, so pipe knocking (water hammer) is reduced.

Measure the installation gap from dimension L before cutting the pipe (1.5" = 115.5 mm, 2" = 141 mm), allowing for socket depth l where the pipe inserts, so the valve fits without bending the pipework.

Suction line before the pump

For plant rooms where the pump sits above water level. Keeps the suction line full so the pump does not have to pull air every time it starts.

After the heater, before the chlorine feeder

Stops concentrated chlorinated water flowing back into the heater or heat pump when the system shuts down.

Solar / water features / spa

For branch lines that must flow one way only, such as the feed to rooftop solar panels or a water feature pump line.

Before you install

1. Check the arrow on the body. It must point in the direction of flow; installed backwards, no water will pass.
2. Remove the union nut and O-ring before applying cement, so solvent and heat do not deform the O-ring.
3. Use PVC solvent cement suited to your pipe, and let it cure for the time stated by the cement manufacturer before starting the pump.
4. Tighten the union by hand only. Do not use a wrench or thread tape.
5. Leave enough clearance to turn the union by hand for future cleaning.

Keep it working for years

• Every 3-6 months, switch off the pump, loosen the union and clean out leaves, hair or sand caught on the gate.
• Apply a thin layer of silicone O-ring lubricant before reassembly to prevent leaks and extend O-ring life.
• If the filter pressure gauge reads higher than normal or flow drops, check the valve for blockage.
• If water still drains back from the suction line when the pump stops, the spring or seal is worn. Replace the part or the valve.
